Her prior honor was presented in 1980 by Femme Magazine Paris. It was 30 years ago this year that Ms. Mamonova was exiled from her beloved Russia for preserving the freedom of speech for women and promoting the democratic principles of human rights by editing, founding her grassroots organization Woman and Russia, now called Woman and Earth Global EcoNetwork, and publishing her now famous samizdat Woman and Russia, translated into 11 languages and published as book anthologies in more than 20 countries and continuously published in magazine format since 1979 and now called Woman Earth Almanac. Two additional publications have been added to this collection: Succes destime and Fotoalbum: Around the World.

Exiled from the Soviet Union in 1980 for publishing the samizdat Woman and Russia Almanac containing the first independent collection of Soviet feminist writings, and founding the non-governmental organization with the same name, now called Woman and Earth, Ms. Mamonova has gone on to win world acclaim for her ongoing efforts on behalf of humanity.

At the recommendation of Simone de Beauvoir and Ms. Magazine, she received a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Universitys Bunting Institute. She has authored hundreds of articles and several books, including four in the U.S. and lectured before universities, colleges, parliaments, foundations, conferences, and organizations throughout the world.

Ms. Mamonovas contributions to human rights, peace, and non-conformist art have earned her a number of international awards, including the Living Legacy Award, whose prior honorees include U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.

A drama based on the story of her and her collective has been produced in Denmark and Poland and her story has been covered by all major forms of international media and film.

Ms. Mamonova has also been acclaimed as the first woman organizer and exhibitor in the non-conformist artist movement in Russia, which lends special significance to the exhibition of her work.
